Why the Drago Changes Everything

Drago-ISI Inc. (Drago Engineering and Fire Safety) designs and manufactures the Drago — a hybrid multifunctional cannon that projects water, air, foam, and encapsulating agents at distances exceeding 200 feet. Unlike conventional nozzles and fan cannons, the Drago uses patented constant spray technology and an interchangeable centre nozzle (Spider) to fragment water into fine droplets that absorb heat up to 3x faster, extinguish fire up to 5x faster, and use 70% less water than traditional application methods.

  • 785 GPM Max Flow

Variable flow from 40 to 785 US GPM (182–2,973 L/min) across three interchangeable Spider nozzle configurations — scale output to the fire stage without changing equipment.

  • 200+ ft Projection

Water reach exceeding 200 feet (60+ metres). Foam and encapsulator projection to 180 feet. Keeps crews at a safe standoff distance from the hot zone during defensive operations.

  • 70% Less Water

Fine droplet fragmentation maximizes heat absorption and evaporation rate, dramatically reducing total water use — less water damage, less firewater runoff, less environmental contamination.

  • Multi-Agent Capable

Projects water, air, Class A or B foam concentrates, and encapsulating agents. Extinguishes Class A, B, and C fires. Disperses smoke and toxic fumes and reintroduces oxygen to deficient compartments.

The Technology Behind the Drago Spider

The Drago's patented Spider nozzle system is what separates it from every other cannon on the market. Instead of directing straight streams at the base of a fire — where most of the water runs off unused — the Spider fragments water into thousands of fine droplets distributed across a wide area. More surface area exposed to heat means faster evaporation, faster heat absorption, and faster knockdown with dramatically less water.

  • Green Spider — Cooling & Protection

Lowest water flow with maximum heat absorption. Creates a vaporized water shield between fire, crews, and equipment. Ideal for incipient-stage fires, tank cooling to prevent BLEVE, and protective misting during hazmat operations.

  • Blue Spider — Mid-Range Suppression

Balanced flow and fragmentation for growth-stage fires. Optimal droplet quality for fast thermal absorption at moderate distances. The workhorse configuration for structure and industrial fire control.

  • Red Spider — Maximum Flow & Distance

Full-power output up to 785 GPM with projection exceeding 200 feet. Built for fully developed fires, large-area suppression, and high-distance defensive operations where standoff distance is critical.

  • Flow & Pressure

    Water flow: 40–785 US GPM (182–2,973 L/min)
Operating pressure: 50–275 PSI (3.45–19 bar)
    Connection: 2½" NST quick coupling
    Air displacement: 39,000 CFM
    Output speed: 144 km/hr (90 mph)

  • Reach & Coverage

    Water projection: 100–200+ feet (30–65 m)
    Foam/encapsulator projection: 100–180 feet (30–55 m)
    Water penetration width: 100+ feet (30+ m)
    Foam penetration width: 100+ feet (30+ m)
    Oscillation: 270° side-to-side, 45° positive / 15° negative tilt

Drago Configurations

The Drago cannon integrates into multiple deployment platforms depending on your operational requirements — from a rapid-deploy trailer for wildland and mutual aid to permanent fixed installations in high-hazard industrial facilities.

  • Trailer Unit

The Drago cannon mounted on a purpose-built trailer. Easy to transport, quick to deploy, simple to operate, and safe for the operator. Robust construction designed to withstand shocks and moderately uneven ground. Built to NFPA 1901. Towed by a standard truck — ideal for wildland agencies, municipalities, and mutual aid response.

  • Pumper Drago

The full Drago 32/16 cannon mounted on a pumper truck with PTO pump, utility tank, and integrated storage. Pump-and-roll capability lets you engage the cannon while moving. A complete suppression vehicle for structure, industrial, and wildland fire operations.

  • Fixed Tower

Permanent installation for high-hazard industrial sites — refineries, pressurized tank farms, wood processing, mining operations, and large industrial buildings. Continuous coverage with automated oscillation at pre-set arc.

  • Ceiling Cannon

Overhead-mounted configuration for large enclosed spaces — aircraft hangars, warehouses, workshops, and manufacturing facilities. Delivers suppression from above without obstructing floor space or operations.

  • Articulated Arm

Elevated deployment on a basket or articulated arm for high-angle attack. Ideal for multi-storey industrial and municipal applications where reach and elevation are required for effective suppression.

  • Constant Spray Fragmentation

The patented Spider nozzle system breaks water into fine droplets with maximum surface area exposed to heat. This promotes rapid evaporation and thermal absorption — absorbing up to 75% of radiant heat energy before water reaches the ground.

  • Hybrid Air/Water Delivery

A ducted fan generates a 39,000 CFM air column that carries water droplets at 144 km/hr. The hybrid aerosol achieves 3x better thermal absorption than conventional water application, with variable fan opening from 26" to 32" for jet control.

  • TEEX Tested & Validated

Evaluated at the TEEX Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station, TX under controlled industrial fire scenarios. Subject matter experts confirmed peak suppression performance and validated the Drago's aerosol-based heat absorption capabilities.

Applications

The Drago is not a single-purpose tool. Its variable flow, interchangeable Spider nozzles, and multi-agent capability make it effective across the full range of fire suppression, cooling, protection, and hazmat operations.

  • Wildland & WUI

Parks, forest reserves, wildland-urban interface zones, cities, and municipalities. Defensive suppression at standoff distance with minimal water consumption and reduced environmental runoff.

  • Structure Fire

Heritage buildings, schools, hospitals, churches, museums, residential buildings, supervised residences, and detention facilities. Faster knockdown with dramatically less collateral water damage.

  • Industrial & High-Hazard

Aircraft hangars, grain elevators, oil refineries, plastics manufacturing, sawmills, chemical plants, and paint factories. Fixed or mobile deployment for continuous protection of critical assets.

  • Transport & Infrastructure

Airports, port facilities, rail yards, road transport, subways, tunnels, parking structures, and mines. Rapid suppression and smoke/fume dispersal in confined or high-traffic environments.

  • Municipal Fire Departments

A force multiplier for structure and mutual aid response. The Drago lets a smaller crew control a larger fire from a safe distance with less water, less damage, and faster knockdown — reducing total incident cost and environmental impact.

  • Wildland & WUI Agencies

Trailer-mounted Drago units deploy to the wildland-urban interface for defensive structure protection and perimeter suppression. High reach, low water consumption, and foam compatibility make it effective where water supply is limited.

  • Industrial & Energy

Fixed tower and ceiling installations protect refineries, tank farms, grain elevators, sawmills, and manufacturing facilities with continuous automated suppression — covering high-hazard assets without requiring personnel in the danger zone.

  • Airports & Port Facilities

Rapid-deploy capability for aircraft rescue, fuel fires, and port operations. Multi-agent delivery handles Class A, B, and C fires with the reach and volume required for large-area transport incidents.
